she doesn't have a particular target in mind, though she did vaguely recall the sighting of a certain pokemon. still, she walks nonchalantly, hands behind her back as she hums along, ves faithfully at her side. [break][break]

"it'd be surprising if we manage to see one," she says to her partner, the espeon's gaze traveling the expanse of the fields. it looks like he was on the look out as well. for that, she was grateful.[break][break]

the delibird waddles into her line of sight and celia immediately perks up. [break][break]

"oh!" her smile is wide as she watches it pad along the snow, her first thought being: cain would want to see inside its bag. ves, however, tugs on the edge of her jacket, and she swears he rolls her eyes at her. he gestures elsewhere with his head, a clear are you sure? you don't have many chances in his gaze and she smiles sheepishly as she scratches her cheek. [break][break]

"well... when you put it that way, i guess you're right." the delibird had paused at the commotion, celia waving good-bye in response to its salute. oh well. maybe next time! [break][break]

she was remaining close to the water's edge just in case. of course, she's sure there are others that poked their noses into the zone specifically because they heard rumors of a particular pokemon too. would she be upset if it didn't show up? no, not really! disappointed, yes, but upset? even gentle creatures enjoyed their solitude and that was perfectly okay too! [break][break]

when the staryu pops up and drifts closer to the shore, celia smiles in appreciation. not what she was looking for, but still pretty. "how nice," comes her commentary, her espeon nodding in agreement. it was a sight to see a multitude of staryu together, though even the singular glimmered back at her. she'd dip her fingers in the water if the weather permitted it, though unfortunately it was much too cold and she didn't want soggy gloves![break][break]

it was getting chilly, and the only logical thing celia thought of was to break the breeze by wandering into the plethora of trees. it worked to some extent, though it didn't change the fact that it was cold. the burmy that dropped before her seemed cozy enough, and with a smile, she sighed. [break][break]

"do you think i'd be warm if i did that too?" she asked in amusement, the burmy swaying from side to side in response. it wiggled a little, as if to emphasize how toasty it was. was it taunting her? she isn't entirely sure, but ves nuzzled at her legs as if to provide her warmth. reaching down to pat his head, she grinned at the burmy. [break][break]

"looks like i don't need a leafy bed yet." the burmy let out a soft squeak, as if to say i see before popping back into its home in the trees.

of course, her aim in the safari zone was a very specific pokemon for her very beloved partner. however! how-ev-er! celia is prone to getting sidetracked. and it was mostly because she just mothered small pokemon and younger humans alike. which is to say! when she comes across a darumaka stuck in a hole as she wanders the water's edge, of course she immediately squatted down and started digging. [break][break]

ves lets out something akin to a sigh and a groan, nudging her hands out of the way. it's a clear let me do it but celia frowns in concern. [break][break]

"won't you be cold too?" ves shakes his head. one of them clearly needed more assistance staying warm, and though her espeon was feeling the chill, it definitely wasn't to the extent of his trainer. he keeps nudging her out of the way, the kalosian relenting with a hum of disapproval. it's ignored in favor of releasing the darumaka and...[break][break]

well, another thing with celia is that small pokemon and younger humans always did tend to like her. [break][break]

although ves had tried his best, celia still somehow ended up colder than she had begun, the darumaka cheerfully snuggling into her chest.

she remembers in passing cain mentioned wanted a cetitan. the imposing size would be out of place, though if she thinks about his team and his affinity for ice-type... well, it only made sense, didn't it? she had promised she'd only catch a cetoddle if she had come across it and luck's on her side today. she smiles down at her espeon whom nods in reply, the swift unleashed without a verbal command. it catches the cetoddle off guard, the pokemon attacking with an ice shard in turn. [break][break]

thankfully, ves has been with celia since childhood, meaning he has ample experience and can move without celia's direction. it's over rather quickly, and she has to really owe it to the years of battling under her espeon's belt. [break][break]

"thank you for your hard work," she says kindly, patting ves on the head. he nuzzles into her palm, watching the toss of her pokeball. how spoiled was her fiancée, to have celia venturing out into the cold like this for him! though, honestly, when it came to these two... well, whether or not the cetoddle actually went to him or stayed with celia, their pokemon treated both the same. [break][break]

it didn't entirely matter who the registered trainer was, they all eventually decided the other was their trainer as well. that's just what happens when around two lovebirds, isn't it?[break][break]

her hands and feet were freezing, but it looks like patience paid off. [break][break]

the lapras that appears is busy ferrying other pokemon across the waters, and blinks in surprise upon the woman's appearance. she smiles gently, hands up to demonstrate friendliness. to mimic his trainer, ves only nods in greeting, sticking close to celia's legs in an effort to reflect calmness. at the sight, lapras tilts its head at the duo and celia places her hand upon her chest in relief. good! no need to battle, it looks like. [break][break]

"you've worked hard," she observes, watching the passenger delibirds waddle away. lapras hums at that, and celia laughs gently at the way it seems to say it's no big deal. they chat just like that, making idle small talk, her espeon even joining in every now and then. after some time, the water-type hums again, head tilting to urge celia to speak of her want. lapras were smart, celia recalls. she smiles in gratitude. [break][break]

"well, to tell you the truth..."[break][break]

she chatters on about cain, about his love for ice-type, of how, as a pokemon researcher, he's always looking exploring new ways to study well... everything! and, she adds at one point, drawing little circles in the air with her enthusiasm, i love singing too. it's a simple comment, and as if caught off guard by the addition, lapras smiles in amusement. is that so? it seems to say, and spurred on by celia's words, it begins its tune. excitedly, celia matches the pitch, even despite the frosty air to her lungs. [break][break]

other wild pokemon come to watch the spectacle, ves himself appearing quite smug at his trainer's talents. eventually it dies down and lapras' fins come up with glee. [break][break]

"i'm glad you had fun! i did too." she smiles widely and lapras nods cheerfully. it leans down and bonks its forehead against celia's and well! it looks like she has someone new to practice her singing with![break][break]
